Software I use, gadgets I like, and other things I recommend.
Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.
Workstation
Custom workstation, AMD Ryzen 5, 32GB RAM (2021)
Tired of to pay extra for a fruity logo and limited upgrade capacity I decided to go back to my roots and build my own PC. Really happy with the result. Running Manjaro GNU/Linux it is a beast for everyday use.
HP 27inch and Philips 25inch
One for the main work, the other for emails, terminals and music. Big enough for any task without being too big. Dual arms monitor stand though.
Splitkb Kyria
Always getting some odd looks from visitors but a split keyboard is the best way for me to seat properly in my seat. No slouching anymore.
Logitech MX Vertical
I was getting tired of the small, cabled mouse. This one is bigger and seats nicer in the hand. Also, less cables.
Development tools
Visual Studio Code
I am a vim fan. But VSC is great to get plenty of plugins without burning up all the RAM.
zsh
My first job was as Shell Expert, so yeah, I love the shell. I use zsh with oh-my-zsh and a custom theme. awk, sed, grep and all their friends are almost daily companions.
Obsidian
It took me some time to get use to it, but now I cannot live without it. I use it for everything, from taking notes to writing drafts of posts and articles.
Productivity
Albert
Ahah, kidding, it is almost useless. But I use it to launch apps.
Google calendar
Great tool for scheduling meetings while protecting my calendar and making sure I still have lots of time for deep work during the week. Savvycal is also a great alternative but a tad pricer.
